Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: June 2026

Cairo Stay Finder ("we", "us", "our") is an independent travel content website. To keep the content on cairostayfinder.com free for readers, some of the outbound links on this Site are affiliate links. This page explains, in plain language, what that means for you.

1. What is an affiliate link?

An affiliate link is a tracked link to a third-party platform — mainly Booking.com (through the Commission Junction / CJ Affiliates network) and Amazon (through the Amazon Associates programme). When you click one of these links and complete a qualifying action — for example, a hotel booking that is not later cancelled, or a product purchase on Amazon — the partner platform pays us a small commission.

This commission comes at no extra cost to you. You pay exactly the same price you would by going to the partner directly. The commission is paid out of the platform's own margin, not added to your bill.

2. Where these links appear

Affiliate links may appear in:

  • Hotel pages — the "Book Now" / "Book Here" buttons on hotel detail pages link to Booking.com with our affiliate ID.
  • Hotel recommendations inside articles — when an article mentions a specific hotel we cover, the link is usually an affiliate link.
  • Product recommendations inside articles — when a guide recommends a travel product (for example a universal plug adapter), the "View on Amazon" button and product links are Amazon affiliate links.
  • Inline mentions of booking platforms in travel guides and itineraries.

Links to official tourism sites, museums, government pages, Wikipedia, maps, or other non-commercial resources are not affiliate links.

3. Editorial independence

Our recommendations are not for sale. Specifically:

  • We do not accept payment from hotels in exchange for inclusion on the Site.
  • Affiliate income does not influence which hotels appear, how they are ranked, or what we say about them.
  • We include hotels we genuinely believe are useful for the type of traveller we write for — based on location, price, guest ratings and our own research.
  • If our opinion of a hotel is mixed, we say so, even when the hotel is one we have an affiliate relationship with.

If a hotel removes itself from Booking.com or we lose confidence in it, we remove it from the Site — regardless of affiliate revenue.

4. Affiliate partners we use

At the time of writing, our active or planned affiliate partners are:

  • Booking.com — via Commission Junction (CJ Affiliates). Most "Book Now" buttons on hotel pages use this network.
  • Amazon — via the Amazon Associates programme. "View on Amazon" buttons and product links in our travel-gear recommendations use this programme. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
  • Additional travel-related affiliate networks may be added in the future. When that happens, this page will be updated.

5. Cookies and tracking

When you click an affiliate link, the partner platform may set cookies to attribute your booking to Cairo Stay Finder. This is standard practice across the travel industry. We do not receive your personal data from these bookings — only aggregated commission reports (for example: "X bookings completed this month").

For details on cookies set on cairostayfinder.com itself, see our Privacy Policy.

6. FTC, EU and UK disclosure requirements

This page exists to comply, in good faith, with disclosure rules including the U.S. FTC Endorsement Guides, the EU Unfair Commercial Practices Directive, and the UK CAP Code. In short: if a link on this Site can earn us money, you have a right to know — and now you do.

7. Questions

If you have any questions about how affiliate links work on this Site, or you believe a link is not properly disclosed, contact us at info@cairostayfinder.com and we will look into it.

Some links on this website may be affiliate links. If you book through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
